MY SKINCARE ROUTINE: from morning to night this is the routine I used for the glazed skin look

hydration, hydration, hydration!!

My skincare journey has been a continuous one. The key component that helped me achieve clearer skin was Accutane - so I am by no way saying that this skincare routine will clear your skin! But when I stay consistent with my routine, I not only find that hormonal spots clear up quicker, but the overall feel of my skin is much healthier. I also prioritise hydrating products because I find that anything too heavy or perfumed can cause my skin to flare up again.

Having used this routine for over two years now, these products are truly my ride-or-die's.

Every morning

Cleanse

I begin my routine with cleansing my skin, washing off any products from my skincare the night before, and cleansing my skin after sleeping. As I shower in the morning, I always wait until after to begin my skincare.

My go-to cleanser is The Ordinary Squalene Cleanser, and, much like the rest of my routine, I have been using this for over two years now. Without fail, this cleanser leaves your skin looking butter-y smooth.

Serum

In the mornings, my next step is always a vitamin C treatment, and once again coming out on top is a The Ordinary product. This Ascorbyl Glucoside is unbeatable IMO.

SPF

A reasonably new product, and already a cult-classic, is the L'Oreal Vitamin C SPF. One of my favourite things about this product is that it doesn't strip away your nail polish when you use it - unlike other SPF's I have used before! I used this SPF on holiday in the direct sun, and besides a slight fading in effectiveness in the afternoons (I forgot to reapply - oops!), it worked a treat.

Every evening

Cleanse

I once again cleanse with The Ordinary Squalene Cleanser, because double-cleansing is crucial!

Tone

This step is a bit tricky for some, because not every skin-type should use a toner. However, even though my skin dries easily making me a risk-factor for toning, I have been able to find an effective toner that does not harm my skin. The Pixi Milky Tonic Toner is my go-to - although I find it very hard to get ahold of!

Serum

In the evening I love to focus on hydrating skincare products, and so I use The Ordinary (again!) Niacinamide.

Moisturise

Finishing off the short-but-sweet skincare routine, is moisturising! I am pretty specific over the one I use, and I love the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel moisturiser. The gel, specifically, is perfect for making a little bit go a long way - and is also ideal for layering on moisturiser to ultra-hydrate your skin.

Twice a week

Under eye mask

I love the Garnier Under Eye sheet masks, as these are gentle on skin and ultra-hydrating. They are the perfect skincare item to use in the morning whilst popping in heatless curlers or making your brekkie.

Once a week:

Face Mask

Following on from the under eye sheet masks, the matching face masks offer the perfect pamper night accessory. At least once a week, I make sure to use a face mask as they really set my skin up for the week.
